About

Dr. Meredith Leigh Falkiner

BA (Psych), GradDipPsych, DPsych (Forensic)

I’ve worked in numerous countries in behaviour research and social studies which has given a valuable global perspective to my therapeutic style. Understanding broader cultural contexts has allowed me to be a more empathetic practitioner and foster a holistic understanding of mental health. I’ve also practiced in both the public and private sectors, which further broadened my experience across the scope of human behaviour.

I now work with people who often have longstanding and complex mental health presentations.

My vast life experience, both personal and professional, enables me to help you understand and process your unique life experiences, discover your inner resources and face your future with hope.

I hold a doctorate in Forensic Psychology, and I am also a Psychology Board of Australia Approved Supervisor.

I focus on working with trauma, including:

  • PTSD
  • Complex PTSD
  • Sexual abuse
  • Domestic abuse
  • Dissociation
  • Traumatic early life events.

I employ a variety of evidence-based therapies, such as EMDR, CBT, DBT, ACT, Solutions Focused Therapy and Schema Therapy to facilitate a comprehensive exploration of your past while finding practical strategies for healing.

I believe in the strength of collaboration, and I aim to create a safe and supportive environment for you. Together, we’ll delve into the underlying meanings of your experiences and explore ways to effect positive transformations to help you feel empowered to move forward with confidence and resilience.
